SEAGULL'S HILL CAMPUS, MICRO-INDUSTRIES & GREEN ROOF PARK

The Seagull's micro-industry campus is the proposed development of a light industrial business tucked into a hillside of a one acre former junkyard site. Located at an urban seam between heavy industrial and residential development, the design capitalizes on site topography to mediate the intersection of industry and the community. Light manufacturing industrial space is inserted on the ground level adjacent to industry, which serves as a programmatic plinth for elevating a publicly accessible green roof landscape at the level of the residential neighborhood above. The park landscape is elevated above the industrial trucking corridor, which helps to mitigate the noise of the corridor while also raising the park for views that capitalize on the theatrical backdrop of the working waterfront.
